Avon Valley Railway 2025

Not just a train ride but the opportunity to explore the delights of the river valley. With a round trip of almost six miles, train rides begin at Bitton Station and run between Oldland Common Station and Avon Riverside Station.

 Opened in 1869 by the Midland Railway as a through-route between Birmingham and the South Coast the line was later linked to the iconic Somerset & Dorset Railway. Closed under the Beeching Axe of the 1960s the Avon Valley Railway was preserved by an enthusiastic group of volunteers.
